Extra Staples is a series of posts where I share various links I found interesting. It is not on any regular schedule.
A fun(?) word to pronounce: triskaidekaphobia, fear of the number 13.
I don’t really suffer from this. True to my roots though, I can get a bit uncomfortable with number 4 (which would be tetraphobia). How about you?

Guide to Fountain Pen Nibs: Troubleshooting Tips and Tricks - JetPens.com
Every one of my Kakunos behave differently, and my Metropolitan sometimes has hard starts, so this guide was of particular interest to me. I learned more about fountain pens in general, and reazlied I should experiment with different inks and get a better magnifying glass. Or something. I think fountain pens are becoming a hobby that I’m a bit hesitant to go deeper into at this point in my life. I’m afraid that I’ll spend too much time and money. This leads me the next link...
“It’s just a pen....” — The Clicky Post
I agree with a lot of Mike Dudek’s thoughts on having too much of a good thing. The more you have, the more you have to worry about, I keep reminding myself. And it’s really true; even if you like everything you have, it’s really hard to appreciate and enjoy each and every one of them fully when you have so much. Not to mention, if you’re not super-organized, you even forget you have some of them! I should know, because I recently went through the whole house trying to clean sweep and trim down. And getting rid of things? It’s really hard, emotionally and physically. This post was a nice reminder, to keep things simple and appreciate my favorite things.
Dot Grid: Episode 13: Like Uber, but for Pictures — Nerd Uprising
Clutter, digital and analog, is this episode’s topic, and I think we can all relate to Will and Andy’s stories. As morbid as it is, I do think about what would happen to all my sh*t, especially Field Notes, when I die. Or my old grape iMac that I haven’t bothered to erase. Yikes.
Platinum Century 3776 Yamanaka Fountain Pen | pencils and other things
Let’s just ignore what I just said about fountain pens and appreciate how beautiful this pen looks. I love that it’s part of a series representing the five lakes of Mount Fuji. Ah, Japan. 😌
