I was searching for ways to make my clothes hangers non-slip when I came across this super simple tip: wrap the hanger’s shoulders with rubber bands. So easy! And I have wide rubber bands! Bands of Rubber from Field Notes! Boom.
No instructions needed, really. I just wrapped a rubber band twice on each shoulder (these hangers are from IKEA), and they’ve been effective so far, at least with lighter clothes. Next time for heavier clothes, I’ll try adding a second rubber band on each end to add more friction, wrapped once higher up on the shoulder.
Here I used wide rubber bands from Daiso. They’re not as wide as Field Notes’ rubber bands, but they’re a little longer, so I was able to wrap them more easily higher on the shoulders.
I can’t believe I haven’t tried this before. Have you? Here’s a fun YouTube video where I learned this trick.
