2017 Jibun Techo – Belle Beth Cooper
So 3 months into the new year, I decided to ditch my Muji A5 monthly/weekly planner, because I felt the need for a change. After a bit of soul-searching, I picked Kokuyo’s Jibun Techo as my next planner, and this detailed review helped me a lot during my research. I really like that I can still see the whole week per spread and each day has a timeline, but wish the column for each day was wider. Otherwise, I’m satisfied so far. Only time will tell whether I stick with it!
Mini Review: Robert Oster Fire & Ice Ink | All Things Stationery
I’ve never heard of this brand of inks but after reading Tessa’s beautiful review, I better pay attention from now on.
The Hobonichi Techo as a Bullet Journal — The Finer Point
Such organized usage of Hobonichi! (One day I’ll have the courage to reveal the inside of my planners). But I totally get Jenny’s need to shake things up again. The struggle is real.
Review: Uchida Reminisce, Gel Ink, 0.7mm | Pens and Junk
I can count on Andrew for reviews on pens I’ve never seen before. I should get out more, or something.
Musgrave Round-Up – the weekly pencil.
I’ve heard of Musgrave a lot but never took the time to learn about them, so this post was very helpful.
Ippitsu-sen | pencils and other things
Another example of a stationery item that makes much more sense now that I’ve been schooled on its context.
Here are some new releases in the stationery world that caught my attention lately...
Coloring masking tapes by Mark’s Maste (shop link)
Ha! The coloring trend is now crossing over to washi tapes. Great idea in theory but I wonder how it is in practice.
Kanebo Kate Tokyo ✕ Pentel
My two worlds are colliding, in this new liquid eyeliner from the popular Japanese cosmetics brand Kate, featuring brush technology from Pentel. An unexpected corporate synergy – yet if you think about it, it makes perfect sense. I admit, I would probably pick one up if I came across this in person.
Olive Edition | TRAVELER’S COMPANY
Ah, Traveler’s Company. They’re so good at making you want things that you probably don’t even need, with their limited editions all the time, and this new edition is no exception. I don’t even use their products regularly but boy am I crushing hard on the olive brass ballpoint pen.
Things I tried recently (and liked)
Perfetto Pencils by Louise Fili (as pictured at the top)
Great pencils packaged in a beautiful box. I wish the pencils themselves had a little more of the same flourish found on the box but still they’re unique and charming all the same. Graphite on one end, red on the other. The red core is on the cool red side, which I prefer. Both ends leave nice dark marks.
Reporter’s Notepad – Write Notepads & Co. (also pictured at the top)
I just started using it on my desk but I like the size (not too big) and the stiff covers.
Fun / Interesting
TypeShift by Zach Gage
A new iOS game that I’m trying these days. I suck at anagrams and crossword puzzles but it’s been fun so far!
The font that escaped the Nazis and landed on the moon - YouTube (via Field Notes)
Futura is Field Notes’ font of choice, and I learned a little more about it through this video.
Nimuno Loops - The Toy Block Tape | Indiegogo
Toy block compatible adhesive tape! I didn’t back it; just thought it was interesting. :)
